The Museum of the Future in Dubai at blue hour, its steel torus wrapped in Arabic calligraphy

The most beautiful building on Earth is being rebuilt from the inside. A new museum opens in early 2027, five years after the first.

What the future held, and what’s coming back

The five experiences the museum opened with. They are being replaced now; a new museum opens in early 2027.

“We may not live for hundreds of years, but the products of our creativity can leave a legacy long after we are gone.”

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum

A building you can read.

The calligraphy is not applied to the façade. It is the windows: the letters are cut through the steel, so the words themselves let the light in. The torus is clad in 1,024 stainless steel panels, and the empty space at its centre stands for the future we cannot yet see.
